Scholarships

Peninsula School of Art is dedicated to offering educational opportunities to aspiring artists and increasing access to our programs for a diverse group of participants. Applications for scholarship support are encouraged. Specific scholarships are funded by contributors to the Peninsula School of Art, whether through endowed funds or special gifts. We are grateful for these important gifts.

Adult Scholarships

There are a limited number of scholarship spaces available in each workshop, so please indicate your first, second, and third workshop choices on your application.

If you wish to take a specific Scholarships at Peninsula School of Artworkshop whether or not you receive a scholarship, we encourage you to register for the workshop in addition to submitting a written scholarship application. If awarded a scholarship, you account will be credited for the amount of the scholarship. However, you will be required to pay the full tuition at the time of registration and you will be assessed a cancellation fee if you cancel.

Scholarship Funds
Peninsula School of Art Scholarship Fund-The Fund supports the on-going artistic development of full-time college and university students, as well as professional art educators. The scholarship covers up to 80% of the tuition expenses for any Peninsula School of Art workshop. Housing and food are the responsibility of the student.
Broad Salon Scholarship Fund-In 2006, the women of the Broad Salon, a local women’s arts group, published a calendar with the proceeds from the sales funding a scholarship program at Peninsula School of Art. The Broad Salon Scholarship Fund covers 100% of the tuition expenses for any workshop. Housing and food are the responsibility of the student. Participation in the program is limited to female full-time residents of Door and Kewaunee counties, Wisconsin.

Youth Scholarships

Announcing the Kathryn A. Doerr Young Artists Endowed Fund
Established in 2012, in memory of Kathryn A. Doerr (Katie), by her family, this endowed fund provides critical support for Peninsula School of Art youth scholarships and youth outreach programs.

During her lifetime, Katie was an advocate and supporter of art education, notably to art education in the Door County community she loved. Her legacy will provide scholarships to children from Door and Kewaunee counties to attend the Summer Studios for Young Artists workshops.

Scholarship Funds
Kathryn A. Doerr Young Artists Scholarships - Funded by the Kathryn A. Doerr Young Artists Endowed Fund, these scholarships cover 100% of the tuition expenses for any Summer Studios for Young Artists workshop.
Participation in the program is limited to full-time residents of Door and Kewaunee, Wisconsin counties.

Karen Eloise Teskie Memorial Scholarships - This scholarship program was established in 2006 in memory of a gifted young artist, Karen Eloise Teskie, by her family and friends. Two Karen Eloise Teskie Scholarships are awarded annually, based on merit. The Scholarships cover the full tuition of the workshop of the recipient’s choice. The first is awarded to a high school student from Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek and the second to a Door County home-school student.
